What my links mean!

2016

Hello!

I put my links at the end of every blog post I write but I’ve never really talked about them or promoted them in any other way so I thought I’d talk you through them and explain in a bit more detail, in case you want to follow me anywhere else!

Facebook: I set up my Facebook page earlier this year as a communal place where I can post everything I’m making all over the internet in one place – blog posts I’m writing over all my many blogs that I run, YouTube videos I make, things I’ve done on News Day, things I’ve made with other people – everything. It’s going to get busier and busier as the end of this year and the beginning of next year approaches!

YouTubeI make YouTube videos! If you’re new, hello that’s new information, if you’re not new – I’ve actually been making videos longer than I’ve been blogger but I find blogging a lot easier than YouTube so I have done a lot more of it. My channel is nearly three years old now and in the New Year, I’m going back to weekly content. I’ve been jotting down loads of ideas and I don’t know if I can wait two more months to be creative again I’m so excited. I have a schedule. An actual schedule!

TwitterI tweet a lot. Like a lot of things, most of my thoughts are tweeted. That’s not always a good thing but I tweet a lot so it’s worth mentioning.

14697056_10207285187468796_377329135_o

I have a lot of twitter accounts that I run – @SophieALuckett is my oldest account for generic thoughts and things. @sophie_luckett is my ‘professional’ twitter where all of my blog posts and stuff go. @hamwicproduces is a twitter I set up for the ‘production company’ that my friends and I were going to set up but I feel like I’m the only one that cares so there’s nothing on it. @thestudentseat is the twitter for the student blog I’ve set up! All the links to blog posts that are written for The Student Seat and for networking a little bit – I’m trying to make that blog a bit more business like? Penultimate twitter – @sophintheclouds is essentially an extention of SophieALuckett where I don’t limit myself with what I want to tweet – it’s a lot of tweeting shit. The things I restrain and don’t post on SophieALuckett, go on sophintheclouds. I don’t even recommend following about it.

I shall talk about SSUJournalism in a little bit!

Instagram: I’m really into Instagram right now – I just like pretending I’m more indie tumblr hipster than I actually am but I really love my Instagram and I love posting on there quite a lot recently. Pictures are fun!

Snapchat: @SophieALuckett – I snapchat a lot I’m obsessed with snapchat. It’s usually just my flatmate and boyfriend doing stupid things and a lot of pretentious selfies. Love it.

Uni blogI set up this blog last year to document what I was doing at university from an educational point of view, whilst this blog is more for what I do in my personal life. I’ve just started using it again so if you want to have a look at what I’ve been doing at uni in the past couple of weeks go have a look!

The Student Seat: The new blog I set up for students and student experiences! You can read more about what this blog is about and what it’s for in the About section of the blog but I always link it here so you can have a look if you’re interested! I love running this blog and writing for it because I love student life and working with other contributors.

And for this week only, SSU Journalism! As part of News Days this week, I’m the Social Media Assistant Producer so I’ll be putting up a bunch of content over the Facebook page and the Twitter page until next Wednesday where my privileges will be revoked and I’ll just be a news journalist again.

I hope you feel a bit more informed about my links and where else I live on the internet! I’m feeling very motivated to make content right now.

Thank you for reading,

Sophie xx

Preparing to work at a festival!

2016, music

Hello!

I leave for NASS tomorrow and I just thought I’d jot a few thoughts down before I leave so I can compare them when I get back – don’t worry, I’ll feed back!

Packing is a little bit daunting – I followed the list of things that’s recommended to bring and part of me feels like I’m overpacking and the other part of me thinks that I’ve left for too much behind. So far, I’ve got a lot of space left in my bags and Lucas has given me some advice based on his experience at Glastonbury, but I’m still concerned.

I’m actually really nervous about the whole thing – I’ve never been to a festival, it’s been a long time since I last camped and I’ve not done any journalism style copywriting since about March so the more I think about it, the more nervous I get. My stomach feels funny and I’ve been grumpy for a few days now… sorry Lucas!

I’m just worried that my laptop will run out of charge or I won’t be writing anything right or I’ll get lost or I just won’t fit in with anyone else there or maybe I’ll be the only one that hasn’t done a festival before or maybe I’ll be the only one not drinking or I’ll get really anxious and worry too much.

Can you tell I’m worrying a lot about little things that probably won’t matter at all?

I think because this is something I’m considering a future in, I’ve put a lot into what this weekend will be so it’s more daunting than it already is.

But I am trying to think of it as exciting – it’s a weekend out of Southampton, surrounded by music and hopefully like minded people… hopefully. I’m in a kind of negative, pessimistic mood which isn’t helping right now.

I really am trying to remain optimistic, I really am!

I just want to be good and do well.

(Also, I’m taking my DSLR camera, even though I’m not a photographer, so I can get lots of photos for you guys!)

Starting the challenge! | Update Monday

2016

Hello!

I wanted to start writing update posts, because in July I am doing a 30 Day Ab challenge and a couple of 30 day flexibility tasks alongside partaking in Camp NaNoWriMo to rewrite my book so I want to both be able to monitor my progress and maybe help inspire others!

In terms of my workout, I’m on Day 3 of my workout even though it’s the 4th. July 1st was the day I moved from university halls to a flat with my boyfriend and it was a long and stressful day. It was about 10pm when I really got time to actually do the workout and my boyfriend reminded me that July has 31 days and I’m doing a 30 day challenge. So in terms of the date I’m a day behind, but in terms of when I actually started I’m on time!

I’ve been taking photos of my ab area (as there are definitely no abs yet!) but I’m intending to save those for when there is a little bit more progress, hopefully it’ll be more obvious by the end of the month.

So far, I’m up to 25 sit ups, 10 crunches, 10 leg raises and a 15 second plank in the ab challenge.

IMG_1620IMG_1622

These are the two flexibility challenges I’m doing – The Stretch Project one is just a singular stretch every single day whilst the Journey To Splits one is slightly more challenging. You do the stretches from days 1 to 5 every single day, then from day 6 you do an additional sixth stretch. For example, on day 12, you would do stretches 1 to 5 plus 12. I like these stretching challenges, because I know that alongside getting me into the habit of doing a ‘home workout’ every day, it will get me more flexible for the next dance season and that makes me excited! I can’t wait to see the progress from these challenges.

The main drawback I’m noticing so far is that my knees are my main opponent – straightening my knees out at all it painful and then when you add a stretch it becomes mildly agonising. It is something I have noticed already becoming easier, but I know that if I maintain and continue these stretches into July, that my knees and the muscles in my legs will get stronger!

At least I hope they will.

The writing however is a different story entirely…

The beginning of the month has been busy – July 1st we were moving, July 2nd I had work and a birthday night out to go to (I’d paid money, I wasn’t going to waste it I’m afraid!), July 3rd was a down day and July 4th was another busy day of sorting stuff out in the flat. I’m hoping to have a big catch up session tonight, but I’m meant to have hit 6668 words today and currently I’m on 27 and those are words that I absentmindedly wrote a few months ago as a starting point!

I am taking this challenge seriously and I fully intend to catch up somehow – god knows how, but I’ll do it!

Next week, the workout challenges will continue to get more intense and I promise the book will be a few thousand words in by next Monday! Though I am going to work at a festival this weekend, so I’m not sure if I’ll be completely up to date.

One thing this update post thing is helping me do is motivate myself, as well as documenting my progress!

Thank you for reading,

Sophie xx

What’s in my make-up bag

2016

Hello!

I’ve wanted to write those post for a while and today is the day! I thought I, as a complete make up novice, would take you through the contents and products of my make-up bag. Let’s get going!

IMG_8777When I’m applying make-up, I start with foundation – I use the Rimmel London Match Perfection because I find it’s quite thin but buildable. It’s really nice to apply and it smells really good too, which is always a bonus when you’re half asleep and trying to paint your face a little bit. The only reason I wear foundation is to cover some of the redness in my cheeks and I find it fulfils that purpose and could function for heavier coverage too.

IMG_8780

To match my foundation, my concealer comes from Rimmel London too – I use this concealer on the bags under my eyes because I look like I have been punched in the face, all time time. I find with this concealer you generally don’t need as much as you think you do – I always end up using excess on other areas of my face, but again, it’s a very good product.

IMG_8782But sometimes I need another concealer, for the really bad eye-bag days. This one is a little bit heavier and I find that it’s good for covering blemishes as well as under eye bags and it’s just good for the days when you need a little bit more support. Like a good push up bra y’know.

Can you tell that my approach to make-up really isn’t very professional?

IMG_8787One thing I very recently acquired and I’m just starting to get the hang of is contouring – I picked up this ‘contour kit’ (if you could call it that) from Maybelline and so far I’m impressed with it. As someone who knows very little about make-up and contouring, I feel like it’s a good way to learn to start using it and to start learning more about the structure of the face, from a more technical approach to make-up I guess.

IMG_8789In terms of face make-up, the last product I use is a powder that I’ve used so much that the name and brand has rubbed completely off the lid. It’s nothing particularly special as far as I’m aware – I know my sister has a transparent powder whilst mine is a very light coloured powder but it makes my face less shiny and sets my skin make-up without using a setting spray as such.

See, I know things like ‘setting spray’ exist but do I use them? Of course not!

IMG_8791Next step is my brows – I fill them in as accurately as I can by using a combination of the light brown and the blonde shades I just fill them in. I don’t pluck, shape or dye my brows because I’m not capable of getting it right or affording to go to a salon to get them done professionally. But I like filling them in because I’ve got very light brows and they need some colour in them just to be able to see them.

That’s literally all I do on my brows. Am I a disappointment now?

IMG_8796My next step is applying my lip colour – these Super Stay 24 Colour stains from Maybelline are my go to. Caramel Creme is my favourite nude colour but they’re such a solid, lasting colour. I usually apply the colour before doing my eye make-up and then apply the setting balm to make it shiny and keep the colour set for the rest of the day. These colours really don’t come off at all and I can’t wait for more colours to be released in this line.

IMG_8797My eye make-up is what I take most pride in but then, in terms of people who are actually good at make-up, I’m still not very good. First, I apply a base coat of a pretty neutral colour (usually the one third from the left on the top row), then putting the lightest shimmer shade on the inner corner of my eye and a darker colour to try and give my eye some definition and try to be better than what I actually am. This is a Revolution pallet and whilst it’s a little pigmented, I adore it.

IMG_8803My favourite eyeliner is this liquid liner from Revlon – it gives a really solid black colour and I find the shape of the pen makes for a really good wing too. I’ve got a few other eyeliners in my make-up bag and I often switch between a few – if I’m lining my lower lash line I’ll use a pencil I’ve got and a gel liner for when I’m feeling adventurous. Eyeliner is always my favourite but there are often days that I don’t bother with it because I know I can’t do it well – those are the tired days!

IMG_8809After eyeliner, I often use two mascaras – one to prep my lashes and one to really sculpt them. The first is the Wonder’Full mascara from Rimmel and to shape I use the 24 hour Super Curler, also from Rimmel. I couldn’t praise this mascara any higher – as someone who doesn’t have particularly long lashes, this eyeliner makes it look like I’m wearing false lashes all the time. It makes me feel powerful, like I could actually kill a man. Like, metaphorically, but cool.

IMG_8811

Now to go through what I have in my make-up bag and don’t use everyday and why I don’t use it every day!

IMG_8813So many spare lip products! More super stay colours – the top one is Caramel Kiss, the one that is too close to nude and you can’t actually tell I’m wearing it. The bottom colour is a bright red I’ve forgotten the name of, but I save it for a night out and I really, really love it. It’s a bit more difficult to apply because it’s a darker colour but I still love it.

IMG_8814Next is Tanya Burr’s lip gloss thing – I don’t really like this one but I don’t have anywhere else to put it really. The colour is a little bit too bright and it really doesn’t stay on the lips very well, as well as feeling sticky and uncomfortable. I’m not even subscribed to Tanya Burr as a YouTuber so I’m not even sure why I bought it to be honest.

IMG_8815This one is quite a recent investment – it’s called the Vivid Matt Liquid from Maybelline but I found that the colour isn’t as strong as it is in the bottle. I’m yet to try and test it properly but I wore it to work and it wasn’t as dark as I wanted it to be. But I am going to try and layer it a bit more as I think it could be buildable.

IMG_8822This is my favourite lip colour outside of the super stay ones – the only proper lip stick I own and it’s a proper dark red. It needs topping up fairly regularly to maintain it’s colour but it goes on really nicely and it’s super comfortable to wear. I always hope to find this colour in the super stay design so I can wear it more often.

IMG_8826These used to be my favourite lip pencil applicant things before I got the super stay ones – these pencils aren’t particularly strong in colour but they last really well, they’re super easy to apply and reapply and writing this post has reminded me of how much I loved these – definitely going to be making these more of a regular!

IMG_8828

These are all the swatches from all the lip products I mentioned, in the order I mentioned them. (The Tanya Burr one has completely warn off in the 2/3 hours between taking the photos and writing the post)

Now to go through all the eyeliners I have and don’t use regularly!

IMG_8830This eyeliner is a felt tip, I love the shape of the pen and it’s really accurate in terms of doing both lash liner and wings, but the colour fades fast and it looks like a pen running out of ink. I often use the liquid liner to top up the colour once I’ve drawn the shape with this pen. It’s a nice little, fairly cheap, high street brand.

IMG_8833This is the pencil I use to line my lower lash line – I don’t often do it because I generally just find it accentuating the bags under my eyes a few hours later but I love that it’s not something that you have to sharpen, you just wind it up and buy a new one when it runs out. I’ve actually been using these pens for years – I really do love them!

IMG_8836This last liner was my go to before my current favourite. It’s a gel, angled liner that, again, is good for drawing wings. I go through phases with eyeliner and I’m sure I’ll find a place for it again soon, but for now you can see how well loved it was from the eyeshadow distributed all over the rubber tip!

IMG_8837The last product in my make-up bag is an old mascara – it’s a sports, waterproof one again from Rimmel and like the Wonder’full one with Argan oil, it’s good for prepping the lashes for a stronger mascara. I should probably throw it away, because I’ve had it for a while but it’s always been a good mascara that I do go back to.

And that’s everything in my bag!

This post isn’t for people who know what they’re doing with make-up, as I’ve mentioned a few times, but it’s intended for those like me who don’t really know anything and I hope, in some way, I could help!

I do like make-up and what I tend to do is pick one new product at a time and learn it – my next step is contouring hence the new Maybelline product! I’m still working on it.

If anyone has any recommendations then please do leave them in the comments! Or if anyone wants to give me free stuff, drop me an email that would be fab – I’d love to be spon, I’ll use hashtag ad in the title and everything – maybe I’m a sellout now.

Thank you for reading!

How blogging has changed my life

2016

Hello!

Short disclaimer, I’m not saying ‘everyone should have a blog’ or trying to be preachy, I just want to share my little personal successes.

Blogging for me started on tumblr – I’ve had a blog for like six years now but I started my 5SOS blog in March 2014 and it really got me going. It’s not like traditional blogging as I just wrote fanfiction but it gave me a sense of writing regularly and uploading content for an audience and exposed me to an incredible community that I’m lucky to still have with me.

But when I started SophieCountsClouds, it gave me the chance to do so many things! I think having my blog has given me the opportunity to go to NASS festival as a writer next weekend, I think it helped me get jobs (I was offered jobs at both CEX and Paperchase… I had to turn down CEX in the end unfortunately!), I think it made me stand out in my Channel 4 work experience application and it probably helped me be picked as a UCAS blogger. It’s really opened so many doors for me and I hope it will continue to in the future.

In the future I really want to network with blogger and go to blogging events and things like that – I’m really happy with my blogging right now and in an ideal world I would love to make it my career but I’m not relying on that too strongly.

My blog isn’t commercially successful – I don’t get thousands of views or even hundreds of views, but I wouldn’t have written over 400 posts if that was what I was doing it for. My priorities aren’t with commercial success!

I love writing, I always have and I always will and I really, really hope I keep up my blog!

Thank you for reading,

Sophie xx

What I Could Do Now: Post-June

2016

Hello!

My June blogging plan went a lot better than I expected and it was mostly because I had nice colourful plans in a notebook that is now my dedicated blog book and I fully intend to maintain a sort of schedule – my plan is to see out blogging the end of this week and then maintain (how many times have I said that?) a Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule.

I had a lot of ideas once I’d finished planning out my posts for June – I want to document my workout and writing progress throughout the month as it will be keeping my July busy. I like being busy, being busy keeps me occupied and calm in a weird way so it’s just finding a balance of not taking on too much and still being occupied, but I’m working on that!

I’m going to keep planning blog posts whenever I think of them and hopefully that will continue to keep me a few posts ahead and I’ll stay motivated and inspired! Having a specific notebook has helped me so much in terms of turning ideas into blog posts.

I would be interested in writing updates of my working out and writing but I’m more interested in whether you, as a reader, would be wanting to read that kind of content! If you have any specific requests or topics you’d like me to cover, please leave a comment!

Writing more recipes would be more fun as well, particularly as I just moved into a flat that doesn’t have an over so it might be fun to do some oven-free recipes, maybe aimed at students going to university in the near future? Feedback would be fab!

My intention is to keep content as varied as I can but I would like to do more cooking posts because I just find writing my own spin on recipes is really fun.

Three posts a week seems like something I could both face and maintain at this point and maybe there’ll be a bonus weekend post every now and then too! I could even do the very YouTube-y thing of having workout/writing updates on Monday, something on Wednesday and maybe a recipe on Fridays? My problem there is that I probably couldn’t think of a new recipe to write every week and the workout/writing updates would draw to an end at some point too and it’s a way of limiting my content, which isn’t what I want!

I’m going to try and keep it up, but I’ve been saying that all year!

Thank you for reading,

Friends | June

2016

Hello!

This blog post is going to be long, but for anyone that’s ever worried about having friends or has been through difficulties with friends, I highly recommend reading this post. Just, stick with me.

Through school, I always had awful friends – my mum often use to tell me that she hated watching me being treated the way I was treated and feeling like I deserve it. I never felt appreciated or cared about by any of my friends through primary or secondary school and it took me coming away from it to realise that I shouldn’t have stood for it.

I had one friend who was my best friend and I couldn’t imagine ever not being friends with her – we met when we were 10 and I thought we would be friends for the rest of our lives. That was, until she starting dating the guy who I had previously had a crush on (I hate this phrase with a burning passion). This guy had completely screwed me over and it wasn’t something I’d ever really come to grips with and having talked to her about it throughout the entire event, she dated him anyway like I was going to be okay with it.

Complete assholes, the pair of them (Sorry Nan, I feel the language is appropriate).

But I did try to be okay with the relationship – she was my best friend and part of me still liked him too so I tried my best to be okay with it. But it didn’t work – it hurt me so much. So as a coping mechanism, I wrote about it in a fictional manner to get it out of my system. As someone who had a fanfiction blog, I knew it was something my followers would like.

Obviously I didn’t name names or anything but I did publish it.

She found it. She wasn’t too happy about it.

I appreciate that I was also in the wrong but in my defence, I was very careful and deliberate in not upsetting my friend – I did not say anything mean about her because my main problem was with him and what he’d done to me and partially with her for not remembering everything he’d put me through.

But what she did to me and the hurt I felt outweighed any potential hurt I caused her and I won’t deny that I know I upset her, but not in the way to match sobbing at 2am because I couldn’t believe my best friend would do this to me.

So when I left school in 2015, I had three friends from school (that I still treasure to this day!) and I’d cut off some people I’d been friends with for years and years and I was alone. I was the loneliest I’ve ever been but the happiest, as can be seen in my blog posts from about June onwards in 2015.

Uni is the best decision I’ve ever made – I have the best friends I ever could have made in my whole life and because of old experiences, sometimes I still doubt whether my friends like or care about me but I’m often reassured that they’re always here and they love me as much as I love them. They want me to talk to them when I’m sad and I’m so grateful to have them in my life.

Slowly, I’m getting over the bad habits in my brain but things are better now.

For me at least, the people alongside my ‘best friend’ are obviously still hung up on what happened at school and haven’t moved past it.

Screen Shot 2016-06-30 at 17.42.29

At least I don’t write tweets about people from years ago.

My sister saw this and got really angry on my behalf and asked me “How dare they say such an ugly thing?” and I’m quite pleased with my response:

“It makes them ugly people and I’m glad I got away from it.”

Following this tweet, I received a very mature message from an old friend who apologised on behalf of the one who actually sent the tweet. This post is not in response to the tweet, I had the idea weeks ago. Just to clarify.

Everything does get better and I’m in a much better place now – have faith!

Thank you for reading,

Sophie xx

Pre-July Happiness Planner Prep | June

2016

Hello!

With my Happiness Planner (I wrote a whole post here for context!), there are some external pieces of paper and list-prep things to do before the book start officially in July and a lot of these pages have really made me thing and I thought I’d share!

The first page of the external sheets, was ‘My Goals’ and it invited you to pick two goals that you’d really like to work on for the year whilst making a sort of game plan as how to work on those goals. I chose getting back into YouTube and being better with money and it really helped to make me think about both of those topics! (That’s what the essence of this post will be – that a lot of these lists made me think).

The other page I filled in was ‘My Bucket List’. I decided that as the planner only lasts a year, I’d pick some bucket list items that I could realistically complete within a year (rather than keeping the sheet for the rest of my life and losing it!). I picked some things such as have at least one driving lesson and do more travelling within my own country, but other things like go abroad at least once before the end of 2017 and do a zip line! (There’s one in Bournemouth that goes over the sea that I really want to try!)

The two other pieces of paper involved changing a habit in 30 days and New Years Resolutions so I thought I’d fill them in later in the year (comment and let me know if you’d be interested in subsequent blog posts about these?).

Now let’s get inside the book!

Once opening the planner, you’re invited to think about 14 different questions, so rather than going through each and every question, I thought I’d write out each question and some examples of my answers and maybe you could write down some of your answers as well!

1. What makes you happy? I put things like writing and YouTube, alongside my friends and Lucas (I don’t want to get all mushy but he’s my boyfriend so of course he makes me happy!).

2. What makes you unhappy? I really struggled with this one, but some of the things I picked include sudden loud noises, last minute plans and being lonely.

3. What are your strengths? Here you are presented with a little words and are asked to rank the ones you think are most important and potent in you. I thought that creative, motivated, thoughtful, authentic, emotional and wisdom best described my strengths!

4. What are your weaknesses? In the same way as the strengths question, I ranked the words negative, controlling, impatient, lazy, selfish and complaining as my worst weaknesses.

5. What qualities or habits would you like to improve? I don’t like thinking about things like this so this one was a struggle to me, so I used all the weaknesses from the page before and put a little sentence about how I would improve these traits about myself.

6. What and who are you grateful for in your life? My amazing friends, the bands I love, my blog, coloured pens and coca cola, as a few examples.

7. Who would you like to see more often? My mum, my Nikki (my ‘girlfriend’) and I’d like to spend more time with people on my course in the next academic year.

8. What have you achieved so far that you’re proud of? Writing a book, going to Tanzania and Ecuador and going to Uni!

9. What have you overcome? Getting through the last few years of school and I’ve overcome a lot of self hatred recently.

10. What are your dreams? What do you want to achieve in life? Have a book published, travel around the world and have a YouTube play button!

11. How do you see yourself in 5-10 years? Personally and professionally? In 5 years, I see myself personally happier and professionally passionate and in 10 years I see myself personally settled and professionally accomplished.

12. What do you want to achieve in a year’s time? More self positivity and physical creativity.

13. What is holding you back? What are your fears? I’m holding myself back and I have a fear of failure.

14. Sum up what you will do over the next 12 months? Live more than I’ve ever lived before.

Obviously all of these answers are just snippets of what I’ve written, but I thought these were all very thought provoking questions in both a good and a bad way! I’d be very interested to return to all of these questions once the diary has finished next June!

I’d be super interested to see some of your answers so please do leave them in the comments!

Thank you for reading,

Sophie xx

Going to write at NASS! | June

2016

Hello!

Whilst Lucas was lucky enough to get work experience at Glastonbury, I was offered the chance to work at NASS festival in Somerset as the copywriter!

To be honest, I’d never heard of it before I was offered a position working at it and I probably wouldn’t go as in actually going to the festival but it’s going to be really good experience and I’m so excited to get some experience of a field I really want to work in.

The music journalism, live music industry is the industry I want to work in; hopefully it’s my future and I’m really excited to get a taste of it and being able to write while I’m there is even better!

I’m going to have a training day early next week (I think!) so I will know exactly what my job entails nearer the time. It was quite short notice and I don’t think work are too pleased with me asking for more time off but it’s work experience that’s so worth it! I don’t know if I’ll be able to accept any more festivals if I’m offered them but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

I’m so excited!

And this might be my shortcut to getting to Glastonbury next year – if I prove I’m good and hardworking, hopefully they’ll like me!

I still hate Lucas for getting picked.

I’m joking. Like, half joking.

I’m going to be a writer at a music festival I’m so excited!

Thank you for reading,

Sophie xx

Scrapbooking | June

2016

Hello!

I really like the idea of scrapbooking – being able to preserve memories and decorate them in a way that’s personal and fun – and I have a scrapbook and a pile of stuff that I want to put in it… but I did it once for a whole day and I haven’t done it since.

I love having and saving memories – all the things going in my scrapbook were once in my memory box or on my wall of stuff at home and I loved finding ways to arrange them with cute little things to label the memories. I often use present labels or place cards and I like finding things that aren’t designed for scrapbooking that I can use for scrapbooking!

I would love to have a bigger assortment of stickers but they cost money, I like using white string and ribbon as well – I use everything I can! Or at least I did and I would if I did it again… oops?

I am a massive hoarder and I keep everything for memories sake – wristbands from concerts and competitions and cinema tickets and little bits and pieces of things that make me happy or smile or laugh. So, consequently, my pile of scrapbooking stuff is forever growing and as I don’t work on my scrapbook, there’s nothing to bring the pile down as of yet!

But the book was already getting really fat with all the stuff I stuck in there so god knows what it’ll look like if I finish it!

It’s really fun, I loved my memory box and it’s so nice to have something I’ll be able to browse through when I’m older too.

I’m treating my scrapbook as a sort of physical video blog, a way of saving stuff and I might as well do something with the things I don’t like throwing away!

I’m hoping to get back into it when we move into the flat because my whole life will fall into place and I’ll be more organised. But most importantly, we’ll have a kitchen table and it’ll be a much easier environment in which to scrapbook!

Everything will get better when we’re in the flat and I can sort my life out. I love this flat and we don’t even live there yet! Four more days – can’t wait!

Thank you for reading,

Sophie xx
